HOTELS, RESTAURANTS AND RESORTS
Hotels, restaurants and resorts waste water arises from kitchens, toilets and laundering of towels, tablecloths and bed linen. The amount of waste water is expected to vary according to either the different population equivalent or the potential daily production of organic compounds (gr BOD/g). Generally, the population equivalent that refers to hotels and resorts depends on the number of available beds, while that one related to restaurants depends on the seats number. Domestic waste water and similar ones feature an easily biodegradable organic compound (BOD), nitrogen in the form either of ammonia or nitrate, and phosphorous. Concentrations change from season to season and according to the location. The purification plant is built in proportion of the effluent final receiver (surface water bodies or superficial soil layers) and in compliance with the restrictions that current Laws state to allow effluents to be discharged into pre-established receiving water bodies. In addition, the plant can be finalized to the effluent reuse for irrigation.
To be as effective as possible, any purification process has to arrange a prior degreasing and primary sedimentation treatment (specifically for kitchens wastewater), a (manual or automatic) screening system, an equalization stage – required to balance the fluctuations in the pollutants concentration due to daily or seasonal peaks – and a stage of strictly bacterial oxidation-nitrification-denitrification that perform the abatement of the organic substance by converting this one into CO2 and H2O, as well as into other by-products required from bacterial synthesis. Ammoniacal nitrogen is first converted into nitric nitrogen by oxidation, and later reduced to gaseous nitrogen. The plant is custom built from DEPURECO and takes just the space strictly required to allow the plant management and maintenance operations.
STANDARD PROCESS
- Degreasing (restricted to kitchens sewages)
- Fine screening (manual or automatic)
- Aerated homogenization and constant flow rate lifting
- Oxidation, nitrification and denitrification
- Sedimentation
- Disinfection
- Aerobic stabilization of excess sludge
Excess sludge dehydration
The main features of a DEPURECO’S domestic waste water purification plant are:
- Flexibility (adaptable to seasonal peaks)
- Low operational costs
- Quick start (activated sludge with energetic oxygen insufflations is the quickest available solution to achieve the expected purification efficiency)
- Long lasting materials
- Easy maintenance
The size fitting for the plant is correctly defined after checking the structure operating parameters. Due to its own 40 years experience, DEPURECO is able to come up with the most effective solution to meet the expected purification standards. As an alternative, DEPURECO can arrange pure oxygen plants or provide an upgrade integration to pre-existing plants.
