DEPURECO 1000 series plants exploit the especial electrolytic flocculation technology that guarantees the water to be totally reused. They fit with:
- Car washes
- Fuel warehouses / gas service areas
- Wastewater used for gas tanks testing
- Mechanic workshops
Inside of the electrolytic cell, the waste water acts as an electrolyte among anti-passive aluminum alloy anodes and steel cathodes. When the continuous power feeds the electrodes , the dissolution of anodes in aluminum hydroxide occurs according to the reaction: AI + 3H2>O – AI (OH)3 + 3e- + 3 H+.
The aluminum hydroxide is a positively charged formless colloidal substance, that spontaneously merges with scattered either emulsified pollutants to form easily sedimentable flocs. The electrolytic process accomplishes also the additional goal of abating heavy metals, when existing. PH adjustments are not required due to the electrolytic deposition on the cell cathodes.
WATER CONTINUOUS RECYCLING
DEPURECO’s plants exploit a successfully tested flocculation method based on the dissolution of aluminum alloy anodes that, unlike traditional chemico-physical plants, does not enhance the water salt content. Then you can:
- meet law restrictions
- totally recycle a pollution-free effluent, whose salt content, and the consequent corrosion potential, are not enhanced during the process (unlike traditional behind-the-times, plants)
- accomplish the total abatement of heavy metals, due to the electrolytic deposition on the cell cathodes
NO CHEMICAL ADDITIVES
The electro-flocculation executed from DEPURECO 1000 SERIES, does not require any chemical additive, therefore users benefit from:
- no manipulation of toxic acid reagents
- one only maintenance operation which consists in the scheduled replacement of the exhausted electrodes
- user friendliness / the plant requires neither specialized personnel, nor particular cautions
SEWERAGE AND WATER COST CUTTING
DEPURECO 1000 SERIES systems are guaranteed to provide users with full autonomy from both the water supply network (users have just to replenish the water once evaporated) and the public sewerage system, which can be even skipped at all.
DEPURECO 1000 SERIES plants allow users to:
- cut the water bill
- cut the cost of connecting to the sewerage system
- prevent the risk of business interruptions due to out-of-law wastewater treatment
- respect the seasonal law restrictions against using drinking water for car washing
LOWER SLUDGE PRODUCTION
DEPURECO 1000 SERIES plants produce a considerably low amount of sludge; therefore, compared with conventional chemico-physical systems, sludge discharge operations are less frequent and even easier – due to a few opening and closing valves, which discharge the sediments directly into homologated disposal sacks. The sludge arising from the process is palpable and complies with special waste disposal regulations.
LOWER PURIFICATION COSTS
DEPURECO 1000 SERIES operational costs are quite low and refer to few sustainable overheads (anodes, cathodes, power supply). Unlike conventional systems, there is no need of expensive reagents (such as phenyl chloride, soda or polyelectrolytic acid), whose dosing and control devices require further manpower and maintenance. Power supply cost is considerably restrained, due to the plant low energy consumption.
As for the operations, these conveniently sized purification plants are highly efficient . Effluents meet the standards required to be discharged into natural receiving water bodies (such as lakes or rivers and so on) and, at least partially, can be reused at industrial purposes. This is feasible to large-scale water-consuming businesses.
The car wash wastewater first is collected from a screening system and later transported by gravity into a lifting tank where a submersible pump, that suits the purpose of pumping out waste water containing high concentration of suspended solids, draws the water out of the tank and moves it to the filtration system. This last consists in a column of granular activated carbons whose diameter is 550 mm and whose height is 1600 mm. Activated carbons adsorb pollutants from water, particularly surfactants and oily substances. Activated carbons have small and low-volume pores that increase the surface area available for adsorption. Due to the high degree of microporosity, activated carbons succeed in removing organic compounds from effluents.
The efficiency of activated carbons is stated by the so called activate carbon saturation curve. The gradually loss of adsorptive capacity from them depends on the kind of wastewater treated. Back-washings by clean water are periodically required in order to both blend the carbons contained in the filter and remove the impurities that have been retained from them.
The back-washing water will be collected into a settling tank.
To optimize the quality of the effluent, a further treatment is available through a micro-filtration unit previously arranged above the filter, that works due to some replaceable coalescing cartridges. After the treatment, the water is sent to the inspection chamber located outside the area, then reaches the public sewerage system by gravity.
A branch arranged above the inspection chamber inlet enables the extraction of effluent samples required for chemico-physical analysis finalized at rating the treatment performance.
Maintenance operations will be periodically executed on the basis of the kind of waste water subjected to the treatment. The maintenance operations will be arranged and scheduled after the plant start-up.

- Primary oil separation and desludging tank (optional)

- Basement (including outlets for both treated water and back-washing one)
- Connections to the public sewer system
